Travel blog — Vietnam

Vietnam is a country bursting with life, colour, and contrasts. The bustling streets of Ho Chi Minh City are a whirlwind of movement—cars honking, street vendors shouting, and an endless sea of scooters weaving through the chaos. It may seem overwhelming at first, but somehow, everything functions in perfect disorder.

Officially, the city is home to around 9.8 million people, and 8 million of them rely on scooters as their primary mode of transport. They dart through the streets like a swarm of insects, transporting anything and everything—doors, ladders, trees, even entire families squeezed onto a single bike. Traffic rules? More like traffic suggestions.

Vietnamese cuisine is a feast for the senses. The scent of sizzling street food fills the air—grilled seafood, fresh herbs, and steaming bowls of pho served at tiny roadside stalls. Seafood is sold everywhere, in every condition imaginable, and in local eateries, one can even find exotic delicacies like crocodile and snake meat. Most dishes are based on rice and seafood, featuring an incredible variety of fish, octopus, shrimp, squid, and crabs.

Sitting on a low plastic stool at a street corner, chopsticks in hand, surrounded by the lively chatter of locals, you get the true flavour of Vietnam—not just in the food, but in the energy of the people, the rhythm of daily life, and the ever-present hum of scooters in the background.
